  1. White kitchens with pops of color

Continue to look for mostly clean, white kitchen palettes but expect to see more pops of fun colors in islands, accent cabinetry and tile. Accent colors will likely be bold blues/reds/greens contrasting with the white. Black and white kitchens will be trending as well.

  2. Cabinetry

Cabinet doors continue to be recessed/flat panel with either a simple Shaker look, or with just a bit more detail. This has been the case with both kitchen and bath cabinetry. Freestanding, furniture-style cabinetry will remain popular for bathrooms.

  3. Luxury Vinyl flooring

This beautiful, durable, water-resistant flooring has continued to grow in popularity and we are starting to see it used throughout the home now, in addition to basement and mud room spaces.

  4. Mixed metals

Cabinet hardware, plumbing and light fixtures continue to trend to include a mix of colors and finishes, i.e. brass door hardware mixed with black light fixtures.

  5. Encaustic tile

This vintage-inspired look continues to find its way into flooring and tile backsplashes.

  6. Navy blue

Pantone’s color of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue, which is a darker shade of blue, leaning towards Navy. Continue to look for Navy blue accents in interiors.

  7. Full tile accent walls

In bathrooms, we are starting to see more accent walls done in tile, taking the place of wall treatments like wallpaper or other specialty paint techniques.

  8. Farmhouse style

Farmhouse elements, i.e. shiplap and apron front sinks will continue to feature in homes, combined with more contemporary accents.

  9. Freestanding tubs

Another more vintage trend that continues is freestanding tubs, primarily in master baths. These tubs are beautiful in design and can really open up a space.

  10. Countertops

As manufactured quartz materials evolve and better mimic natural stone, they continue to grow in popularity as homeowners are looking for less pattern, clean lines, and excellent durability.
